Award winning Bloom Procurement Services partnered with Exeter City Council to tell local businesses how public sector tendering can power growth.
Local businesses attended the exclusive supplier engagement event held at Jury’s Inn, Exeter.
Chanelle Busby, service lead for commercial and procurement at Exeter City Council, said: “The day provided potential suppliers with an understanding of the Bloom procurement model and how to bid for upcoming opportunities in the region and nationally. Winning public sector tenders can open up attractive revenue streams for local businesses, enabling them to employ good people and move to the next stage of their development.
“In turn, there are great benefits for the regional economy in terms of money generated being spent locally. The event also provided delegates with the opportunity to network and gain an insight into differing experiences of bidding within public sector procurement.”
Formed in 2012, Bloom is the exclusive operator of the NEPRO professional services framework on behalf of the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO).
The framework was set up to help the public sector buy and manage professional services spend whilst achieving better outcomes and improving value. Specialising in bringing together buyers and suppliers, Bloom has over 6,500 suppliers registered allowing them access to opportunities across over 315 public sector organisations. Already, the company has successfully completed 4,500 projects from very small to multi-million pound opportunities across the public sector.
Adam Jacobs, executive chairman at Bloom Procurement Services, said: “Public sector contracts are of huge benefit to businesses in Exeter and as such we are delighted to partner with Exeter City Council, to facilitate greater growth for businesses in the area and to strengthen the local economy. The event also provided suppliers with a chance to hear from members of the City Council.

“We had a fantastic turnout at the event and we informed potential suppliers how they could work with Bloom across 19 different categories of professional services and 240 sub categories of professional services spend for which we are currently providing opportunities. Through the NEPRO natural vendor solution, like-minded suppliers are also able to collaborate and aim for greater growth.”
