Businesses Urged to Sign Up To Tees Valley’s Biggest Industry Event

Tees Valley Business Summit is set to return for its eighth year and Mayor Ben Houchen has called for the region’s companies to sign up to the biggest event on the industry calendar.

This year’s summit will take place at Teesside University’s Olympia Building on Thursday July 4, and promises a packed programme of workshops, alongside networking opportunities and exhibitions.

These presentations will teach delegates a range of skills and tips on everything from sales and marketing to finance, funding and international trade.

And for the first time, a new Incubator Zone will be set up to support small and micro businesses with smaller budgets and less experience in exhibiting at major shows, allowing them to tap into specifically tailored support.

Last year’s show saw more than 1,000 business leaders, owners and managers attend the show, with over 100 of the region’s firms exhibiting.

Mayor Houchen has called for firms to make this the most successful event yet. He said: “This is the Tees Valley’s biggest business event. It’s a great opportunity for the leaders of some of our top companies to get together, network and get advice on the business support funds we have available.

“We’ve got some fantastic companies in our area who will be on display at the event, updating us on some of the major developments that have been going on in the region.

“We want to see firms big and small across our key sectors coming together to celebrate what has been a fantastic year for the Tees Valley.”

Shak Asghar, Tees Valley Business Compass Growth Service Manager, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity to network, hear about support services in the marketplace and, specifically, all that Tees Valley has to offer.

“It’s a great chance for the business community to come together, share their experiences and get to know all the elements to the Business Compass brand. This year we’ve got a real desire to promote Tees Valley’s key sectors, so if you fit into one of those, we’d love to hear from you.”

Paul McEldon, Chairman of North East Enterprise Agency, said: “Tees Valley Business Summit isn’t just a brilliant event for companies that are already long-established or looking to grow, it’s also an invaluable resource for those entrepreneurs who are about to set up their own business. For the first time, this year an exciting new Incubator Zone specifically tailored to help start-ups will provide a wealth of advice and support.”

“The networking opportunities are equally massive, and newer business owners can draw on the expertise of leaders with decades of experience in a friendly and welcoming environment.”

The event is free to visit but exhibitor space is high demand, with stands priced at £299.

It has been put together in association with Tees Valley Business Compass, Tees Valley Mayor, Tees Valley Combined Authority, North East Enterprise Agency Ltd and Teesside University.
