Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Car show just the ticket this Father’s Day

With Father’s Day just over a week away, families looking to buy the ideal gift for their fathers and grandfathers may look no further.

For those who have a keen eye for classic cars then why not treat them to a full day out at this year’s Great North Classic Car Show on Saturday, July 6 2019 from 11.00am until 5.30pm.

Up to 400 classic and exotic cars and motorcycles from around the world will be on display featuring some of the world’s most beautiful cars including Aston Martin, McLaren, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Jaguar and Porsche. Also on display will be Aston Martin’s timeline featuring Astons from every era of production right up to the current year.

The show follows on from the success of last’s year event, which will be held at The Black Horse in Beamish, County Durham and is organised in conjunction with Aston Workshop, Car Barn and Beamish Morgan.

For the first time ever, there will be an auction and a full Concours d’Elegance comprising six categories including Aston Martin, MK2 Jaguar, Morgan Cars, Pre and Post-World War Two cars and future classics and will be judged by experts from across the UK.

Former Top Gear presenter and motoring journalist, Steve Berry will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any Top Gear questions you have always wanted to know.

General admission costs £10.00 per person (children aged 15 and under accompanied with a paying adult are free) and tickets are available in advance from Eventbrite.

The event concludes with entertainment in the form of a gala dinner in the famous Orchard Marquee featuring a charity auction, live music and a five-course meal, hosted by Steve Berry. The gala dinner will be held 7.00pm-11.00pm and tickets for the dinner are also available from Eventbrite.

Aston Workshop owner Bob Fountain, said: “We’ve got a great event lined up and judging by the interest already, it’s going to be even more popular than last year.

“With 400 cars on display and Father’s Day just around the corner, this will make an ideal gift for budding car enthusiasts. In addition, we’ll have the Concours d’Elegance competition, our first ever auction and gala dinner.”

A BBQ and bar area will be available as well as indoor catering in the Black Horse Marquee plus other refreshments will be available on site.
