Darlington-based solicitors, Latimer Hinks, has been named as one of the legal sector’s leaders in the region by the prestigious Chambers Legal Directory.

The Chambers Legal Directory places Latimer Hinks in the top tier of legal practitioners in the Middlesbrough and Surrounds region, praising its private client and agricultural departments in particular.

Latimer Hinks is one of Darlington and County Durham’s longest established law firms. Founded in 1892, it has been serving the people and communities of Darlington and County Durham for more than 120 years. This latest accolade comes just weeks after Latimer Hinks’ ranking was consolidated in the 2016 edition of the Legal 500, and in the same year the company’s private client team was named Private Client Team of the Year, at the Northern Law Awards.

The Chambers Legal Directory describes the Latimer Hinks private client team as a: “Well-regarded Darlington firm acting for families with business and agricultural interests. Advises on trust creation and administration, estate planning and business succession.”

The company’s rural and agricultural affairs department was said to be a: “Well-respected regional practice which advises on a number of specialist agricultural areas of law. Able to provide expertise in partnership agreements, inheritance tax and succession planning issues, mine and mineral rights and renewable energy projects. Also noted for its work in rural telecoms and other diversification matters.”
