SANTA is looking forward to dropping into the Viewley Hill Shopping Centre in Hemlington this Saturday (December 2, 10am to 2pm) where he’ll greet local children in his Grotto at Hemlington Library amongst the annual Christmas in Hemlington festivities
The day offers something for everyone. Hemlington Library will host the Grotto, with displays of dancing by local children and refreshments at St Timothy’s Church and a variety of stalls, Punch and Judy, face painting and entertainment across the two buildings.
The annual event is organised and funded by the Community Council and their grand raffle will raise funds for Hemlington Food Bank.
Community Council Chair Linda Boyes said: “This is a great annual community event which is always well-attended, with local groups joining in and contributing to the stalls and displays in the library and church.
“I hope as many people as possible will join us to enjoy a great community atmosphere, join in the festivities and perhaps find that special Christmas gift.”
- Admission is free although there will be a charge of £1 for the Grotto to contribute towards a gift from Santa
The event is organised by local residents from Hemlington Community Council.
