STOCKTON’S Riverside will be lit up by a spectacular free fireworks show at the Borough’s annual display on Saturday 5 November.
The display and the accompanying funfair and refreshment stalls always attract a huge crowd of residents and visitors.
There’ll also be live entertainment hosted by BBC Tees. The theme for the night is ‘Lost Legends’, a celebration of the works of the iconic music and film artists who have passed away in the last 12 months.
The BBC Tees roadshow gets under way at 6pm, with the main fireworks display starting at 7.30pm.
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “The annual fireworks display is always a real highlight of our year-round events programme and I’m sure that this year’s spectacular will be as popular as ever.
“We see huge numbers of people coming down to Stockton for the show, often in excess of 25,000, and we’re very proud to host one of the biggest and best free displays in the country.
“Coming to this organised event is also a safer option than hosting your own fireworks display, so I’d encourage everyone to come and make the atmosphere the best it has ever been.”
Special guest appearances will be announced shortly.
