LEADING North East education recruiter First Class Supply has teamed up with Newcastle United Foundation to celebrate the unsung sporting heroes inspiring young people across the region.

Continuing a long-term partnership between the two organisations, First Class Supply will be the headline sponsor of the Foundation’s Fundraising Dinner at St James’ Park next month.

The event, which will celebrate the dedicated young people and adults involved in Foundation projects, will also be supported by Newcastle United Manger Rafa Benitez, who along with senior players, will be the guest of honour.

The Foundation will also recognise a Foundation Champion and present the second Alder Sweeney Award, in memory of John Alder and Liam Sweeney; Magpies supporters who tragically lost their lives in the MH17 disaster, and which recognises an outstanding contribution to grassroots football.

First Class Supply has been working in partnership with schools across the region for almost 13 years and is the largest supply provider in Northumberland and North Tyneside. The team, which is led by Lesley Robinson and Steph Boulton and includes education professionals and ex-headteachers, has built a well-deserved reputation for investing in the community.

Newcastle United Foundation development manager, Sarah Medcalf, said: “First Class Supply are long term supporters of the Foundation and we’re delighted that they have agreed to be the headline sponsor of our Fundraising Dinner. It promises to be a fantastic evening celebrating some wonderful achievements.”

Lesley Robinson, director, said: “We have been working closely with Newcastle United Foundation for a number of years and have seen first-hand the life-changing impact that their work has on young people and families.

“Their wide range of projects harness a passion for football and use it to drive-up standards in the classroom and boost activity levels.”

Steph Boulton, co-director, added: “Through our partnership with the Foundation, we have been able to offer tremendous opportunities to our partner schools and we get amazing feedback on their benefits from students and teachers.

“We are extremely proud to be supporting this event, which will give well-deserved recognition to those unsung heroes whose hard work and commitment are such an inspiration to others.”

A limited number of tables and award sponsorships are still available and businesses who would would like to attend and support the Foundation can contact Kelly Foster at Kelly.foster@nufc.co.uk or on 0844 372 1892 ext.8501.
