McLaren Automotive’s newest model and first true Grand Tourer, the superlight new McLaren GT, will take the spotlight in Monaco between 30 May and 3 June as it makes its global public debut at the principality’s prestigious Top Marques supercar show.

Visitors to the exhibition in the Grimaldi Forum will be the first in the world to see how the new McLaren GT redefines Grand Touring, imbuing classic touring attributes with dramatic supercar design and the speed, agility and driver engagement of a true McLaren supercar.

The McLaren GT will take its public bow in front of one of the world’s most discerning audiences, due to be swelled by motorsports enthusiasts in town for the Monaco Grand Prix which takes place just a few days previously. They will see McLaren’s show star finished in a seductive combination of Burnished Copper exterior and Porcelain Blue leather interior. The refined modern craftsmanship of the McLaren GT is emphasised by the Luxe specification, which features a leather-finished rear luggage area and finely-crafted, machined, brushed and knurled aluminium controls. Fitted with an optional panoramic electrochromic glass roof, the show car sits on 15-spoke Gloss Black diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The Monaco premiere comes just two weeks after the unveiling of the McLaren GT generated an enthusiastic response to McLaren’s newest model, the fourth in the McLaren Track25 business plan and the first to major on touring refinement and practicality. While the rear-hinged glass tailgate offers easy access to a luggage area that can accommodate two pairs of skis plus boots or a set of golf clubs as well as bags, the new McLaren GT remains a paragon of dynamic excellence, with light weight for maximum agility and a new, bespoke version of McLaren’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 620PS guaranteeing competition levels of performance. The McLaren GT can accelerate from 0-200km/h in just 9.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 326km/h (203mph).

Alongside the McLaren GT on the brand’s stand at Top Marques and set to be a stunning contrast to it, will be the newest addition to the Super Series family: the McLaren 720S Spider. The example for Monaco presents as a vision in silver with full Carbon Black interior with carbon components for convertible supercar drama of the highest order. In Supernova Silver paint with 10-spoke Super Lightweight alloy wheels in Stealth finish, the 341km/h (212mph) McLaren features a Carbon Fibre exterior pack, Dark Palladium aerodynamic body elements, and the roof in the same body colour. Polished Silver brake calipers are complemented inside the car by the sill trim in Shale Grey and all the black interiors.

“We are thrilled to take part in Top Marques Monaco and present two stunning new McLarens to such an elite audience in what is one of the world’s ‘capitals of luxury’ and are particularly pleased that the new McLaren GT’s world public debut is happening in such an iconic location. With its continent-crossing capability allied to outstanding ride comfort and segment-leading cabin refinement, the McLaren GT will surely find a natural home along the Côte d’Azur.”

David Gilbert, Managing Director Europe, McLaren Automotive

Both the McLaren GT and 720S Spider will be available to order on the Top Marques stand, which is being managed by McLaren Monaco. First deliveries of the new McLaren GT, priced in the UK from £163,000, will be made towards the end of 2019.

This year’s Top Marques Monaco is the 16th edition of the popular supercar exhibition which brings together the world’s most exclusive and rarest supercars under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. Held in the Grimaldi Forum exhibition centre near the waterfront, it is open to the public every day between 30 May and 2 June with a VIP viewing by invitation only on 3 June.

After its debut at Top Marques, the new McLaren GT will make further public appearances around Europe, taking in the open-air car show Salone Auto Torino in the spectacular surroundings of the Parco Valentino in Turin, Italy, on 19-23 June, and in France in equal splendour at the Chantilly Arts and Elegance Concours d’Elegance in Chantilly on 30 June.
