Guided Walk at Cotherstone!

CaptureJoin the Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership for a free guided walk around Cotherstone on Sunday 11th October at 12.30pm. This circular walk of 5 miles takes in lovely views of the River Tees, passes the site of a 12th century castle, travels along parts of the Teesdale Way and the Tees Railway Path.

This walk is part of a series of guided walks taking place on the second Sunday of every month. These guided walks are part of the Partnership’s Trails through Teesdale Programme which aims to provide local people and visitors with the knowledge they need to make the most of exploring the area, by providing leaflets, booklets and audio trails.

All walks will be listed on the events section of their website at www.heartofteesdale.net and a programme of the walks is available in the downloads section. They are also regularly advertised on their facebook (www.facebook.com/heartofteesdale) and twitter pages (www.twitter.com/heartofteesdale).

These events are free of charge but booking is essential. The walk takes in a number of stiles along the way and uneven ground. Children are welcomed if the parents think they can walk such distance. Children must be supervised at all times. Dogs are also welcome, but must be kept under close control at all times. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. The walk will take approximately 2.5 hours so please bring your own refreshments, especially a drink.

If you wish to attend a walk please ensure that you book a place. Contact Alex Sijpesteijn, on 03000 260842 or alex.sijpesteijn@durham.gov.uk
