Hat Trick of Regional Awards for Table Tennis Club

Just weeks after scooping the Coach of the year award at the North East Disability awards, Bishop Auckland TTC scoped more awards at the Regional Pride of table tennis awards.

The Pride of Table Tennis Awards are run by Table Tennis England each year, the awards are designed to award and reward Clubs, Coaches and Volunteers who help deliver table tennis across the country.

This years North East awards saw Bishop Auckland Table Tennis club come away with three awards including the big one, Club of the year.

Club Coach Ben Kelly, left with the other two awards winning both young volunteer of the year and coach of the year.

“it was an unexpected pleasure to receive the awards” said Ben “The Club have been brilliant in providing me the opportunity to coach table tennis to young people! As nice as it is that I have received the awards at the end of the day it’s about helping young people to develop in table tennis whether that’s progressing their table tennis ability, social skills or putting a smile on their face at a training session”  the judging panel, were impressed with Ben’s dedication to his coaching and his commitment to both his personal and the players development.

The panel were impressed with how the club balance a large community programme of Primary and secondary after school clubs, community sessions for all ages and abilities, while also running talent development programmes and development pathways. achieving national success without compromising the community spirit ethos of the club.
