BRAVE FOODIES can enjoy a huge culinary offering with a side of fear at the North East’s biggest scream park this month (October).
Psycho Path presents Fearground takes over Lintz Hall Farm, near Burnopfield, on selected nights from 11 to 31 October, with terrifying characters, spooky performances and three new attractions.
And the food and drink choice at this year’s event is set to rival a food festival, with a wide range of vendors setting up at the park’s Anarchy Arcade.
Hatch 76 will be serving up duck wraps and loaded fries, while gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches will be on offer at Grillas and Tango Durham will be cooking up burgers, chicken and fries.
Pizza fans will have a choice between The Pizza Van or Hadrian’s Pizza, while Geordie Bangers will be offering creative sausage recipes and Parm-O-Rama will be serving the popular Middlesbrough dish.
Coffee connoisseurs can visit Coffee Supreme or Monument Coffee Co and there is also an international offering, with Acropolis bringing the taste of Greece to the North East and a Mediterranean menu available at Med Head.
Mulled wine and cider will also be on offer to keep visitors warm and those looking for something different can head to Psycho Sid’s Gin and Fizz Bar, look out for Gin and Tipi or browse a wide selection of beers, including those from Wylam Brewery.
And 700 Acres Ltd recently announced a collaboration with Sunderland-based Poetic License Distillery to create a blood red gin liqueur, which will be sold at the site’s bars and merchandise shop.
Christiano Crawford, of 700 Acres Ltd, which also organised last year’s sold out Psycho Path, believes the food and drink village will add an extra element to the scream park.
“We’ve handpicked some of our favourite vendors from across the region to set up at the Fearground and there’ll be a real variety on offer for visitors,” said Christiano.
“Although many people will come to the event to be scared, we wanted to create a full experience that everyone could enjoy, with a hub of food, drink and entertainment at Anarchy Arcade.
“It’s a fantastic place to grab a bite between the attractions or sit down with friends for a drink and enjoy the stage shows and performers.”
Along with fairground rides, aerial artists, live music and magicians at Anarchy Arcade, visitors can try out funhouse-inspired iScream, home to disorientating features and terrifying characters.
Psycho Path returns with a new fear-filled route through secluded woodland, before leading onto final new attraction, Psycho City, which is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with disturbing inhabitants.
Tickets for Psycho Path presents Fearground start at £27 and those aged 13 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
