One of the North East’s largest manufacturer’s – Miller UK – has scooped a prestigious honour at the region’s most highly acclaimed manufacturing award ceremony.
The Cramlington based company – recognised as a world leader in manufacturing ground breaking attachments – was awarded Manufacturer of the Year (over £25m) at the Insider Made in the North East Awards 2023.
Hosted by Insider Media, the event was held at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead and brought together seasoned manufacturing and engineering companies in the region to showcase their products and services and celebrate their skilled workforces.
Approaching its 45th anniversary in business, Miller was founded by its current Chairman Keith Miller. Over the last year the company has increased its sales across the globe and grown its workforce.
During the last three years – in what has been an extremely turbulent marketplace for all businesses across the globe – the company’s reactive response to economic challenges, including supplier shortages, global production and haulage issues, significant component stock increase – has proven to be a winning combination, which has not only enabled stability but encouraged growth.
Speaking about winning the award, Katherine Rowell, Marketing Manager at Miller said: “We are delighted to have secured this award and be recognized as a manufacturing powerhouse in the North East. The award is true testimony to the company’s ongoing commitment to be at the very forefront in driving innovation, safety and quality standards in the multiple sectors that we operate in.

The Manufacturer of the Year (over £25m) was sponsored by Theo James Recruitment and seen Miller, Sterling Pharma Solutions and Made for Trade all shortlisted for the prestigious award.

In 2022 Miller achieved a Gold standard in the Better Health at Work award in recognition for its continual commitment in promoting a healthier lifestyle across its workforce. As part of this Miller has doubled the number of Health Advocates internally to ensure that messages of health and wellbeing are communicated across its full workforce.
The company, along with all winners of the evening will now automatically shortlisted for Made in the UK 2023 representing manufacturing achievements in the North East.
