Mobile Mini UK invest in local young apprentices

Mobile Mini UK, one of the leading world-wide providers of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, continues its commitment as an employer of choice for young professionals seeking career development opportunities, showcasing the first qualified members of the Marketing team to complete their apprenticeships.

Over the past five years, Mobile Mini has worked in partnership with several industry-leading training and education providers including Northern Skills Group and Middlesborough college to enhance its professional development opportunities. Offering an alternative avenue for young people seeking progression, experience, and expertise, Mobile Mini recently welcomed its 29th apprentice to enrol on to a professional course, totalling 11 learners in 2022. These apprentices span across all departments and a range of Level 3-5 apprenticeships, including Sales Executive, Operations Management, Team Leader, Marketing Executive, Digital Marketing and Business Admin.

The most recent success story stemmed from Mobile Mini’s Marketing department where Grace Gibbin completed her Level 4 Marketing Executive course and colleague Sophie Gardner also concluded her Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship – both gaining Distinctions. As Mobile Mini continue to promote upskilling through direct support and increase training opportunities available to young professionals, the marketing duo look to develop their learning through additional qualifications such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diplomas.

Grace Gibbin, Marketing Coordinator at Mobile Mini said, “Since joining Mobile Mini in 2019 as the Digital Marketing Apprentice, I’ve completed my Level 3 Digital Marketing course and more recently, my Level 4 Marketing Executive course with the CIM, achieving a Distinction. Throughout the completion of both apprenticeships, I have become more competent and confident with my contributions in work and have since taken on more responsibility within the Mobile Mini Marketing Department.

With the ongoing support I’ve received from Mobile Mini over the last three years, I’ve been able to qualify from two marketing apprenticeships, and balance my studies with the deadlines and demands of my role within the Marketing team. I look forward to developing my career even further at Mobile Mini.”

Helen Johnson, Director of People & Development added “We are proud of Sophie and Grace’s recent completion of their apprenticeship. Seeing our people grow in confidence and develop their skills to help them progress in their roles is fantastic. As a company, we are increasingly investing in our people through various apprenticeships, including marketing, sales and management. We have seen how these achievements positively impact our people and business, reinforcing our commitment to our golden rule that people are our most valuable asset.”

With a fleet of over 40,000 portable units for a variety of storage solutions and 16 strategically placed sites throughout England, Scotland and Wales, Mobile Mini ensure career development opportunities are available to all its 370 employees, in line with its key golden role ‘people are the most valuable asset’.
