Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Glasgow Rocks’ play-caller Sterling Davis has been rewarded for his team’s stunning run by being handed the Molten BBL Coach of the Month gong for November.

The Scottish side enjoyed a scorching month as they continued to rack up new club records after going unbeaten during the period, with five wins – including three victories on their travels.

Davis and his players opened up November with a hard fought 71-65 BBL Championship triumph at Leeds Force, prior to making the trip back to Yorkshire the following week. This time they headed a little further South, as the Rocks’ coach went up against his ex-employers DBL Sharks Sheffield and registered a 69-57 win in the BBL Cup Quarter-Finals.

Back on home soil for their next two league games, the fans at the Emirates were treated to a couple of cracking encounters and a pair of five point wins. The first was an intense tussle against Worcester Wolves which the hosts managed to take 82-77.

Davis then masterminded the most impressive result of the month as Rocks ended the unbeaten start of Leicester Riders by completing a pulsating 97-92 victory.

Their final game in November saw them wrap up a comfortable 88-67 win at Cheshire Phoenix, which extended their winning streak to ten games in all competitions and also gave them a record-breaking seventh straight victory on the road.

Davis has since enjoyed a wonderful start to December too – securing a place at the 2017 Basketball Cup Finals at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on 15 January.
