A new two-day music and beer festival will be staged this September at Danby by the North York Moors National Park.
The Rhythm and Brews Festival will celebrate the rich pool of North East musical talent and the craftsmanship of regional artisan brewers during a weekend of entertainment in the scenic grounds of The Moors National Park Centre on 14 and 15 September.
During both days festival goers can sample craft beers from 15 different breweries including Malton’s Bad Seed Brewery and Ampleforth Brewery as well as savour innovative street food such as the gourmet bangers served by The Sausage Box from Leeds or pizzas from York’s Dough Eyed Pizza company.
Alongside the food and drink there’s a jam-packed programme of family entertainment ranging from blacksmith demonstrations through to clown workshops, the Puma Dance Troop and fly casting competitions for youngsters.
Then on Saturday evening live music takes centre stage with Fat Medicine, a Celtic rock n’ reel band from Marske-by-the-Sea leading the audience into a toe-tapping journey into the world of Irish jigs and reels.
The line-up also includes Whitby folk musician Roger Sutcliffe, the North East’s Mitch Laddie Band where influences of Hendrix, Prince and The Police filter through into their soulful guitar-driven music and acclaimed R n B band Joe Belowfrom York who will set the tone performing tracks by artists such as Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones.
Tickets for Rhythm and Brews cost £15 per person for the weekend which includes camping for those wanting to stay overnight. Day tickets are also available (£5 for Saturday which lasts until 6pm; £3.50 for Sunday) while those wanting to come along just for the Saturday evening can purchase tickets for £10 per person. Under 12s can come along for free.
The National Park is offering a free shuttle service to the Festival from Danby Train Station for visitors travelling on the Esk Valley Railway which will be operating between Middlesbrough and Whitby. Alternatively the Moorsbus will also be running a service to The Moors National Park Centre during the Festival.
