A North East producer of hand-crafted scented soy wax candles is celebrating great success in The Giftware Association’s Gift of the Year 2017 competition.
Northumbrian Candleworks, based in Hexham have been crowned winners of the Home Fragrance category of the Gift of the Year awards for their unique candle making kits.
With twelve different occasions and scents available including Honeysuckle Jasmine and Mediterranean Fig, the candles are simple and straightforward make, with no need for specialist equipment, rather using household items including a bain-marie or water bath jug and wooden spoon.
Commenting on the award, Peter Cooke, business owner of Northumbrian Candleworks and head chandler, said: “We love the art of candle-making, and to be able to share our passion and give people the chance to enjoy the experience of creating their own scented soy wax candles is very exciting.
