Rudby Hall, in Hutton Rudby near Stokesley, has received global recognition for its consistently high standards.
Despite only officially opening last September, the luxury venue has been named as a Service Excellence Winner for 2015 by TripAdvisor.
Now in its fifth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve impressive reviews.
Rudby Hall, a popular venue for corporate events, weddings, private parties and accommodation, received its Certificate of Excellence award for continually delivering a superior customer experience. The award itself is based on the reviews provided by guests giving top ratings for service standards.
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor takes into account the quality, quantity and number of recent and relevant reviews submitted by travellers, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the ‘Popularity Index’ on the site.
In order to qualify for the award, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five and have a minimum number of reviews.
Rudby Hall is now home to thirteen luxury suites, having opened another seven earlier this year due to growing demand.
In addition owners, Martin and Sandra Johnson, were recently given permission to more than double Rudby Hall’s table service capacity for meals from 72 to 150. The increase in table service numbers comes as a huge boost to Rudby Hall and will allow the business to host larger events, as well as create further opportunities for local people.
The business employs a team of eight which could rise to ten in the coming year and, in addition, Rudby Hall will be able to increase its work with local suppliers including Howard’s in Stokesley, The Bay Horse in Hutton Rudby, CWC Events, First Class Wedding Company, Darling and Green Florists and Stokesley Taxis.
The Grade II*-listed country hall dates back to the 19th century with all of the suites named after historic figures linked to the hall, which was a former Royal residence built for King William IV’s daughter, Lady Amelia Cary.
Husband and wife team Martin and Sandra Johnson, who run the hall and themselves live on site with their family, have seen an increase in demand from the corporate sector with national and international companies using the hall for meetings, functions, events and accommodation.
Martin Johnson said: “The team at Rudby Hall is really proud to have won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence as we are a very new venue. It’s great that our guests feel compelled to take the time to complete a review on the website. It’s a fantastic seal of approval to be given an accolade that is driven by the most important people- our customers. This is a brilliant vote of confidence for Rudby Hall as we continue to thrive as we approach our first full year in business.”
Rudby Hall, restored by Teesside based regeneration specialists Python Properties, has hosted a range of dignitaries over the years, such as MPs, Prime Ministers and members of the Royal family. The historic home hit the headlines last year when Liam Gallagher and his partner, Debbie Gwyther, were among the first to stay whilst attending a wedding in the area.
