Plastrex Launches in Middlesbrough

Plastrex Limited, which imports, sells and develops sustainable and ecological construction products and systems, is now open for business following years of research and dedication by founder Paul Cryer and co-director Dianne O’Donoghue.

Paul secured a unit at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Park Industrial Estate to establish the warehouse, manufacturing and offices with financial support from Tees Valley Business Compass and a range of other key partners including UK Steel Enterprises and Five Lamps.

The business has also boosted employment in the area with the creation of eight jobs locally, with further job opportunities expected in future as the business expands across the UK.

Paul said: “The funding from Tees Valley Business Compass has helped me get the business up and running much quicker, de-risked the overall project for funding partners and has prevented the business being over-stretched in its infancy stage.

“It’s fantastic to see all the hard work and effort our team have put into Plastrex recognised.

“We believe there is a gap in the market for a trade business that delivers commercially greener product solutions to construction and corporate business sectors and this belief has been affirmed by the backing of all of the organisations that have helped make my dream of opening this company a reality.”

The official opening of Plastrex, which supplies 100% ecological, sustainable and green products and systems, takes place at newly renovated Riverside Park premises on Tuesday, July 21.

Middlesbrough Mayor Dave Budd, who will officially launch the company at tomorrow’s event, said: “New business ventures are part of Middlesbrough’s lifeblood, and we’re delighted to be able to support enterprises like Plastrex.

“These are the sorts of businesses that are driving forward the town’s regeneration, helping to create much-needed jobs and boosting confidence in the town’s future.”
