Dalton Park is gearing up for a bank holiday bonanza to mark 70 years on the throne for Her Majesty the Queen.
Free, family friendly activities and events will run every day from Monday 30th May right through to Sunday 5th of June.
‘Platinum in the Park’ will have something for everyone, with a grand throne room for guests to take commemorative selfies, in addition to crown crafting and bunting designing every day for families.
On Saturday 4th of June there will be live music across the park from 11.30am courtesy of electrifying band Back Chat Brass and on Friday 3rd June amazing stilt walkers will be on hand to keep visitors royally entertained, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
There will be a regal purple wildflower planting pledge in partnership with Climate Action North, which will bloom across the parkland each year as a legacy to the jubilee and provide a new experience for guests taking a stroll around the area.
Guests will also be able to visit the new commemorative ‘purple patches’ floral display which will be incorporated into the outlet shopping destination’s existing Pollinator Parks Garden. Dalton Park is the first retail park in the North to have introduced a wildflower meadow through the Pollinator Parks® scheme.
Families can take advantage of the 55 acres of landscaped parkland to bring their own picnics and soak up the celebratory atmosphere before taking a stroll to take in the fresh air and views of the North Sea from the Sky Gate vantage point. Shoppers can also save more than the Queen with some fantastic jubilee offers, with 65 stores offering up to 60% off the RRP.
Sophie Robinson, Placemaking, Marketing & Communications Manager at Dalton Park, said: “The Platinum Jubilee is the party and extra bank holiday we have all been waiting for and we can’t wait to get going with the celebrations.
“We have pulled out all the stops to ensure a right Royal knees up for shoppers of all ages and, what’s more, everything is free.
“This once in a lifetime event to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen will create a real sense of togetherness across the country and we are delighted to be hosting Platinum in the Park to be part of this momentous occasion.”
