While the resort already boasts a variety of things to do, including the award-winning Spa, a challenging golf course and mapped walks around the estate’s stunning grounds, they’ve now linked up with some carefully selected, high quality local activity providers to further enhance the offering.
During the winter months, Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society will run Stargazing Sessions including a laser tour of the night sky and the use of professional telescopes. Children’s picnic rides, ‘Own a Pony’ days and hour-long lessons and hacks will all be part of the Equestrian offering through Brookleigh Riding Centre near Richmond.
For the thrill-seekers staying at Rockliffe Hall, in Hurworth, County Durham, there’s Tandem Sky Diving at Durham Tees Valley International Airport while Shooting and Clay Pigeon Shooting experiences are also available.
If guests prefer to stay in the beautiful surroundings of Rockliffe Hall, Fly Fishing, Falconry, Golf Tuition, Croquet and Nordic Walking are all on offer. The resort has also sourced a selection of top quality bikes for guests to hire so they can explore the stunning North Yorkshire Moors and Dales.
Some activities, including Nordic Walking classes and Croquet are complimentary while others cost from £10 (half day bike hire) up to £250 per person for Tandem Sky Diving.
A specially designed Activities Brochure will be provided in each hotel room outlining what’s available.
Eamonn Elliott, Chief Executive at Rockliffe Hall, says: “There is already so much to see and do at Rockliffe Hall while you unwind and get away from it all, but for those who want some thrill-seeking or fun with the family, these new activities are perfect. With Britons becoming more fond of ‘staycations’, Rockliffe Hall is an ideal location for families, couples or groups of friends so we wanted to enhance our activities offering here with something for everyone.”
