Silverstone launches new Covid-19 Workplace Assessment Survey for businesses returning to the workplace

Silverstone Building Consultancy has launched a new Covid-19 Workplace Assessment Survey in response to the latest Government guidelines for Covid-19 Secure workplaces.

The Newcastle-headquartered firm, which also has an office in Leeds, is using the latest digital data capture and reporting technology to conduct workplace assessments throughout the region to help businesses protect their staff and remain compliant.

The extensive audit provides commercial property occupiers with an easy-to-follow report which includes suggestions and guidance on how to rectify any non-compliant issues identified.

Richard Farrey, director at Silverstone Building Consultancy said: “As we all continue to adjust to the post-coronavirus world many businesses will be looking to ensure a safe return to the workplace.

“It is an employer’s responsibility to carry out a risk assessment and implement measures to ensure their workplace meets the relevant guidelines. However, this can be a complicated and time consuming process to undertake in-house.

“As a firm of building surveyors we are fully adept problem solvers and are well placed to help businesses create workable, simple solutions to any issues found.”

The newly created assessment aligns with the guidelines outlined by HM GovernmentWorld Health Organisation, and the Health & Safety Executive, for COVID-19 Secure workplaces. A follow-up report uses a simple colour coded system to tag items as ‘compliant’, ‘non-compliant’ or ‘not applicable’ and also provides a list of action points for the employer.

Ben Hunter, director at Silverstone added: “With a team of surveyors primed and ready to be deployed across the North East and Yorkshire, we can issue a report within five working days of the survey being undertaken. We hope this will help staff feel more confident as they return to work in the weeks and months ahead.

“The report takes into consideration a vast range of potential risks beyond simply hand washing and social distancing, to cover issues such as; shift patterns, work stations, staff well-being, moving around buildings and work related travel.”
