SPORTY students are celebrating after running a mile when asked to support a national charity.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students at Darlington School of Mathematics and Science also swam as far as they could for Sport Relief.
The efforts of around 320 children raised the grand total of £1,362.89 for the national cause.
PE teacher Mike Hillary said: “This really was a tremendous effort. Those who swam first then ran the mile wet, making it much more difficult.
“The spirit among the students was absolutely amazing and to raise this amount of money for charity is an incredible feat.”
