THE popular monthly Farmers’ Market will be welcoming spring to Middlesbrough’s historic Stewart Park at the weekend.
The market – in partnership with Northern Dales Farmers Markets – takes place outside the HLF-funded Bolckow Centre on Sunday, March 22 from 9am to 2pm.
Regular stalls selling local produce including bread, cakes, meat and fish will be joined by newcomers the Olde Young Tea House selling speciality cakes and Garth Cottage Herbs selling pot-grown herbs.
The popular Craft Fair also returns to the Visitor Centre for the new season with an array of craft items on offer from jams to jumpers and aromatherapy to photography.
As well as selling handmade cards, Cornwell Crafts will be holding a ‘make and take’ session for children of all ages – come along to make and decorate Easter-themed paper cones which can be filled with Easter treats. No booking required, admission 50p with proceeds to local charities.
Spring is the time of year to start sowing seeds – join Horticultural Advisor Nicky Morgan inside the Visitor Centre between 11am and 1pm to learn all about sowing wild flower seeds in handmade recycled paper pots. Make a pot to take home – admission free.

Join Nicky Morgan for a step by step guide to creating a decorative hanging basket display.
Included in the cost is a wire hanging basket, liner and compost. Plants not included but available at additional cost.
