CARING is most definitely sharing next month (February), as a top Tyneside venue reveals its Valentine’s menu.
On Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February, Three Mile, at Great North Road, Gosforth, is serving a special three-course feast in celebration of St Valentine’s Day.
And the highlights are a succulent sharing dish of côte de boeuf – a classic and expensive French dish of prime rib of beef – and a trio of sharing desserts.
Chefs at the venue – owned by leading North East hospitality operator Malhotra Group plc – have put together a carefully curated selection of dishes with starters such as gin cured salmon with nicoise salad, goats cheese and beetroot tart and ham hock terrine with pease pudding.
These are followed by a choice of mains including seabass fillet and Thai mussels with grilled pak choi and coconut sauce and barbecued hot honey smoked ribs with seasoned fries.
Other main options are butternut squash risotto with sage crisp and herb oil and, for a £10 supplement, the côte de boeuf, which is served slightly pink, alongside tomatoes, mushrooms, battered onion rings, salad and hand cut chips.
Diners opting for the sharing dish can also choose either peppercorn sauce or garlic prawns to accompany it.
And those with a sweet tooth can then round off the meal with a sharing platter of mini desserts – with special appeal for chocolate lovers.
These include dipped strawberries, mini chocolate brownies and Belgian waffles, served with a warm Baileys chocolate dipping sauce.
And couples wanting to extend the evening can enjoy an overnight stay in a deluxe double room at the adjoining Great North Hotel for an additional charge of just £99 on 14 or 15 February only.
