A North East-headquartered training firm has made its first foray into Cumbria just weeks after expanding into Yorkshire.
County Durham-based KF Training has grown rapidly since it was launched in 2011, opening two more outlets in the North East as work flooded in.
Last month the company expanded into Yorkshire after striking deals with several firms in the area including Sheffield-based stainless steelmaker Outokumpu, which is putting many of its first line supervisors through KF Training’s leadership and management programme.
Now KF Training has clinched deals with firms in Cumbria and kick-started a recruitment drive to hire staff to service the extra workload. One of the contracts is with Carlisle-based plumbing and pipeline merchants Crossling, which will put its staff throughservice excellence training to further strengthen its relationships with customers, suppliers and employees.
Kelly Lee, managing director of KF Training, said: “Our expansion into Cumbria is a key part of our strategy of widening our footprint in the North of England. Companies in this part of the country have a range of training needs in many areas, including life sciences, creative and digital, advanced manufacturing, energy, transport and infrastructure.
“We want to build our presence in the North West of England and we are close to striking deals with other companies in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.”
KF Training delivers business-focused skills programmes and consultancy services across the North of England. Headquartered in Peterlee, County Durham, the fast-growing business was launched in 2011 by managing director Kelly Lee and now employs 52 people. With four specialist training divisions covering innovation, leadership and management, continuous improvement and business skills, KF Training has helped dozens of clients build strong, dynamic businesses and develop a highly skilled workforce.
