Having been shortlisted in two categories at this years’ ‘Made in the North East’ Awards, Walker Filtration took home the Innovation Award after proving to Judges that innovation is at the heart of the company.
Walker Filtration, Washington based manufacturer of compressed air filtration and drying equipment, manufactures all their product at their UK office and places significant investment in R&D. Competing against some of the best manufacturing companies in the North East this is an incredible achievement for Walker Filtration as they continue to champion British Manufacturing and push compressed air filtration to new market levels.
Speaking of the award, Group Managing Director, Lianne Walker MBE (MBA) said, “This is a fantastic end to a successful year here at Walker Filtration. The Made in the North East Awards are a celebration of Manufacturing in the region and we are incredibly proud to have been part of this years’ awards.”
She continued, “Following our 2016 Queen’s Award win for Enterprise in Innovation, a second award in this category underpins the company’s commitment to investing in innovation and highlights the engineering and manufacturing talent we have within the business and the region.”
The award was achieved through the development of a unique range of air/oil separators for use in oil flooded rotary vane pumps. The company’s commitment to solid innovation and engineering allowed them to create a product that outperformed competitor products in the market place by a factor of 10.
As a winner of a regional award, Walker Filtration moves forward as a finalist in the National ‘Made in the UK’ event.
