Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Venator launches North East Community Fund at global HQ

Wynyard, UK – Venator, the experts in pigments and additives, today launched a £20,000 Community Fund to promote teamwork and innovation amongst groups and organisations across the North East of England.

Venator, which has its global HQ at Wynyard Park with sites at Greatham and Birtley, has established its first ever Community Fund in a bid to support the communities in which its employees live and work. The Venator Community Fund will provide 80 grants of £250 and is available to groups and organisations across the North East.

The Together Fund, the first of two to be set up under the Venator Community Fund, will make 40 grants of £250 to community groups and organisations for activities that inspire teamwork, one of Venator’s core values.

The Together Fund, which is now open for applications, was launched with the help of employees and their friends who are already involved with community groups and organisations in Billingham, Stokesley, North Tyneside and Durham.

The Together Fund is now open for entries until midnight on the 31 August 2018. Applicants should visit www.venatorcommunity.com and submit 250 words about how their group or organisation would use the £250 grant to promote teamwork. All successful applications will then go head-to-head in an online public vote in September 2018, with the top 40 projects each awarded £250.

Karen Fenwick, Vice President Corporate Branding and Communications, said: “By its very nature, teamwork is positive and collaborative – something that helps to bring people together within a community. Through the Together Fund, we hope to reward grassroots groups and organisations that share our values of togetherness and teamwork.

“Venator is a New York Stock Exchange listed global business with sites at Wynyard Park, Greatham and Birtley and with over 800 employees in the region, we think it’s important to give back to the communities where we live and work.”

Venator will introduce a second fund, the Bright Ideas Fund, to inspire innovation, another Venator value, through ideas in science, engineering, technology and maths in early 2019.
