Vision For Newcastle Building Society’s New Hawes Branch Going On Show

A computer simulation of a new building society branch that will be opening in Hawes before the end of the year is set to go on show, along with details of the services that will be coming to town.

Back in July, Newcastle Building Society announced plans to launch a new community branch in the Upper Wensleydale Community Office in the town’s Market Place as part of a wider strategy that is seeing the Society create a step change in how it delivers its services to towns and communities.

Since then, the designs for the new branch have been finalised – and now, a CGI fly-through is set to reveal to local people exactly how it will look when it opens in early December.

The CGI display forms part of an information stand that will in place at the Community Office from Wednesday 6 November.

A team from the Society will also be visiting from Wednesday 6 November to Friday 8 November to provide information for prospective new and existing customers of its key products and services being launched here.

Newcastle Building Society is more than two thirds of the way through an ambitious branch improvement programme which will see work on new or improved facilities in every part of its existing branch network and new branches being opened in a number of locations across the North East and North Yorkshire.

Part of the programme involves re-imagining its locations and adapting its approach to suit local needs, while increasing its branch network at a time when many banks and building societies are reducing their High Street presence.

The Society is currently recruiting for a Community Branch Manager and Customer Adviser positions at the new branch, with both full-time and part-time roles available, and is holding an open day from 10am to 1.30pm on Wednesday 6 November at the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes, where further information on the roles on offer will be available.

Stuart Miller, customer director at Newcastle Building Society, said: “The response to the announcement of our plans to invest in Hawes has been extremely positive, and as part of moving the new branch forward, we wanted to give local people a detailed idea of what’s coming their way later in the year.

“We’re fully committed to finding innovative ways to maintain and enhance our presence on high streets across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, and to ensuring we provide face-to-face local financial services and financial advice across these locations.

“Hawes is a wonderful example of everything that a vibrant thriving rural community can be, and we’re excited to be investing in it to further enhance its long-term sustainable success.”
