JESMOND Italian restaurant Fratello’s brought festive spirit to residents at Kenton Manor and Kenton Hall Care Homes this weekend as part of its new Fratello’s Cares campaign.
Head chef Steve Keys and the team served up authentic Italian cuisine at the care homes’ joint winter family fair in Kenton on Saturday 28 November, providing a feast from the Fratello’s Christmas menu.
Residents dined on classic seasonal dishes including butternut squash soup and turkey with all the trimmings, joined by their families and friends over lunch at the annual event.
The Fratello’s Cares initiative sees the restaurant, which also has venues at Newcastle Airport and Scotch Corner, give back to the surrounding local communities in which they are based, with this community focus carrying on into December and 2016.
Steve Keys said: “It was so rewarding to get involved with the Kenton care homes event – our staff had a great time and the residents and their guests really enjoyed the festive feast, as well as the chance to spend quality time with their loved ones and all celebrate together.
“It feels fantastic to give something back and make people’s day which is what Fratello’s Cares is all about. We’re looking forward to building on our work with the community and already have some exciting plans for the coming weeks leading up to Christmas.”
Owned and operated by Newcastle’s Cairn Group, Kenton Manor provides purpose-built care home facilities on the outskirts of Gosforth.
