On Sunday 9 July 2017, Barburrito at intu Metrocentre will be giving away FREE burritos to the first 1000 people who donate to Teenage Cancer Trust, to help raise funds and awareness for young people with cancer. #BurritosAgainstCancer.
Barburrito and Teenage Cancer Trust will be fundraising across the shopping centre, to help raise funds for The Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle. The hospital, specifically designed for 13-18 year olds, has 10 in-patient beds including 4 traditional beds. All bedrooms are equipped with soft furnishing, bespoke furniture, DVD and gaming facilities.
Teenage Cancer Trust helps to bring young people with cancer together, allowing them to share their experiences with someone their own age and continue to hang out in the normal ways teenage do.
To thank everyone for their support for Teenage Cancer Trust, Barburrito will be offering FREE burritos to everyone who donates on Sunday 9 July. Having supported the charity for the past 3 years, Barburrito at into Metrocentre has dedicated a special fundraising day to the charity in the hope of raising over £1,500.

“Teenage Cancer Trust makes sure the seven young people aged 13 to 24 diagnosed with cancer every day don’t face it alone. They help young people and their families deal with the many ways cancer affects the body, mind and life. The charity works in partnership with the NHS, providing expert staff and specialist units in Principal Treatment Centres for cancer, and brings young people together so they can support each other.
“Right now, for every young person Teenage Cancer Trust is able to reach, there’s another they can’t. Teenage Cancer Trust is aiming to provide specialised nurses across the UK in order to reach all young people with cancer, no matter where they live. To do this they will need to raise £20 million a year, every year, by 2020. Everyone at Barburrito wants to do their bit to help this amazing charity.”
