Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Be Brave and Leave for the Unknown

CaptureNew show about to embark on North East tour looks at the nature of bravery both epic and domestic, large and small.

RedCape Theatre makes exhilarating and exciting shows inspired by true stories of ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Their new show Be Brave and Leave For The Unknown tours the North East in November.

The play explores the concept of bravery through the very personal story of a couple, and the sudden, unexpected course their lives take when tragedy strikes their family.

With a combination of powerful physical theatre, dynamic new writing and stunning soundscape, the award winning RedCape Theatre ask what is required of us when our courage is tested, when just taking the next step feels like the hardest thing to do.

RedCape is a critically acclaimed company whose recent successes include 1 Beach Road (“A thoughtful, unsettling and beautifully conceived show” – The Guardian) and The Idiot Colony (“Beautiful and touching. Mind blowing theatre” – Three Weeks).

Be Brave and Leave for the Unknown is the first RedCape play to be co-directed by Cassie Friend and Rebecca Loukes (RedCape Artistic Directors). Written by Catherine Dyson, Design is by Tina Bicat who won the Critics Circle award for her work with Punchdrunk. Sound design by Andy Dawson and original compositions by Jonny Pilcher (Athlete, White Lies, Super Furry Animals, Lana Del Rey). Lighting Design by Aideen Malone (English Touring Opera, Theatre Rites, Clod Ensemble, Akram Khan Company).
