Stockton locals are being called upon by residents of The Beeches Care Home to donate cakes and join them for their Blooming Great Tea Party this Friday (24th).
The tea party is in support of Marie Curie, a charity which provides care and support for people living with terminal illnesses across the UK.
Whether it’s making a fancy cake, cornflake buns or just coming along and buying some of the yummy treats for sale, the Stockton community is urged to come and join in the fun for a great cause.
Celebrities such as Louis Theroux, Adrian Chiles, Rebecca Addlington, James Martin and Gordon Ramsey have all supported the fundraiser in the past.
Sue Abdi, manager at The Beeches, said: “It’s brilliant that not only can we support Marie Curie with a Blooming Great Tea Party but we’re also brightening our residents’ day up with tea, cake and visitors.
“It really is up to you how you decide to join in with this great cause.
“All the money raised goes to a charity that provides vital care for people living with a terminal illness, so it would be fantastic if the people of Stockton could make a contribution, no matter how big or small it is.”
The Blooming Great Tea Party takes place at The Beeches Care Home, on Green Lane, Stockton-on- Tees, from 2pm on Friday, 24th June.
UPDATE: The home raised over £150 for the charity, with the help of families and friends, through the sale of home baked cakes and donations.
