“Tarred & Feathered” is the long-awaited album from Teesside pop duo Cherry Head, Cherry Heart. A launch event at a secret location will take place on Friday 14th October in Stockton-on-Tees. Attendees will receive a copy of the album ahead of the global launch on the 21st October, see a performance which, for the first time, will include a full band line-up and special guests and also food (not tar and feathers although the thought did occur). Tickets are very limited and have already started selling well so get on your horses!The seeds of the songs began in 2013 around a loose concept about an ill-fated trip around Europe and the long journey home. The songs from this original idea were discarded, dismembered or rewritten to form a diverse collection of modern pop songs that fizz with hooks, catchy, melodies and distinctive arrangements, maintaining the group’s knack for an instant ear worm whilst adding a soulful, hopeful aspect to their songs. The lead singles, “Party Seven” and “Dark Clouds” offer a glimpse into the diversity of the album although both tracks will be receiving a fresh mix as the band, initially intending to produce themselves, have brought an unnamed mixer/producer in to see the project through its final phases and give the recordings a surprisingly modern finished sound.
