James Sproule, Chief Economist and Director of Policy at the IoD, will address business leaders at Newcastle University Business School on 8 November.
Prior to joining the IoD – the UK’s longest-running organisation for professional leaders – James led the UK research team at Accenture. He started his financial career as a merchant bank economist working with Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Kleinwort.
James stood for Parliament at the 2005 general election and spent seven years as a visiting fellow in the Department of Management Economics at the London School of Economics.
Graham Robb, chairman of the IoD in the North East, said: “With the UK economy in a state of unprecedented flux following the Brexit vote and record low interest rates there could not be a better time for regional businesses to hear from James Sproule. He is a respected UK economist with the ear of policy makers and this is an event not to be missed.”
The annual lecture starts at 5pm on 8 November.
Tickets are free for IoD members and their guests and £15 to non-members. Coffee and tea will be served on arrival. To book a place, email iod.northeast@iod.com.
