Two entrepreneurs have teamed up with a North East letting agency for the unveiling of a new app which aims to revolutionise the UK property industry.

Darlington-based entrepreneurs Olly Lawson and Matthew Whatt have developed app based software which enables estate agents to better compete with their competition.

Muves provides estate and letting agents with a tool to lower the costs of listing a property online allowing savings to be passed onto vendors and landlords.

One client already benefitting from Muves is My Property Box, a tech savvy Darlington-based letting agency working throughout the North East.

Its founder Ben Quaintrell said: “The Muves app is setting us apart from our competitors and is helping us to expand across the North of England and, eventually, the UK. It has enabled us to become more efficient as a letting agent, while increasing our customer base, growing our brand and saving time and money.”

Prior to the launch of Muves, Matthew Whatt worked extensively in the estate agency industry, while fellow property enthusiast Olly Lawson previously worked for an app developer and has a background in digital marketing.

After experiencing the online-only estate agency market share double over the last two years to five percent, the innovative duo saw an opportunity to make superior technology available to the wider market.

Muves was developed to enable estate agencies to provide the best of both worlds to clients, allowing vendors and landlords to handpick, via the app, the bespoke package they require, in the process omitting additional fees.

Olly Lawson said: “Estate agency is one of the last industries to fully embrace technology and we hope to finally change this by ‘uberising’ the sector. There’s nothing like Muves currently on the market and there is no reason why we can’t expect a large number of agencies to adopt our software over the next couple of years.”

Matthew Whatt added: “The Muves app has been created with both the agent and end-user in mind. Our aim is to stop long-established, successful agents getting left behind by online competitors and to empower them to continue to thrive.”

Muves features rapid customer and property data capture, an easy-to-use photography guide, an automated property valuation tool, an inventory creator, a viewing calendar, viewing feedback tool, marketing support and a CRM system for the agent to manage the data.
