THE fallen of the First World War will be honoured with the unveiling of a plaque and the dedication of three English Oak trees at Hemlington Lake.
As part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the First World War, running from 2014-2018, a ceremony is to be held around the lake on Monday, July 13 at 1.30pm.
The service will be led by Reverend Robert Desics from St. Timothy’s Parish Church and will also remember the fallen of subsequent conflicts and in honour of those that continue to serve in all the armed forces.
The plaque and trees have been paid for with a contribution from ASDA Community Champions and additional funds from The Friends of Hemlington Lake.
