ONE of the unluckiest dates in the calendar is set to prove particularly chilling for guests at one of the North East’s most dramatic venues.
On Friday, 13 February, 600-year-old Lumley Castle, Chester-le-Street, will provide the setting for a mysterious murder – and it will be up to guests to prove whodunnit, with only the light from candles to help them.
Guest at the four star hotel’s Murder by Candlelight evening will be welcomed with a reception drink, before enjoying a three course meal prepared by chefs from its renowned Black Knight Restaurant.
However, one person will not be so lucky and, following the discovery of a body, diners will be invited to turn detective and unmask the murderer.
Guests then wishing to extend their evening can enjoy an overnight stay in one of the hotel’s 73 bedrooms and breakfast the following morning.
“It will be a night of fabulous food and foul deeds at Lumley Castle,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Nola Collinson.
“And we hope the region’s amateur sleuths will come along for what promises to be a really fun and memorable evening.”
Tickets for the Murder by Candlelight evening cost £29. Tickets to include an overnight stay cost £79.50 per person based on two people sharing a Standard Courtyard twin bedroom.
