- Even stronger support for MG UK customers
- MG extends courtesy car vehicle cover
- Fully supported by The AA and Switch Car Rental
MG Motor UK is further strengthening support for its UK customers. Drivers with an MG Assistance breakdown policy will automatically be supported with a like-for-like MG until their own vehicle is back on the road.
MG Assistance will also extend beyond support at the roadside, over 180 MG dealerships and authorised repairers across the UK have access to a large fleet of courtesy vehicles and can supply customers with a courtesy vehicle if there is a complex technical issue or a part is not immediately available. Again, this support for customers is ‘uncapped’ with the loan renewing until the vehicle is back with the MG customer. Dr Peter Lin, MG Motor UK’s Aftersales Director comments:
“These new services from MG Assistance are designed to significantly strengthen the ownership experience for customers, if your car needs to be recovered to one of our dealerships you will have the peace of mind of knowing a like-for-like MG is quickly available and it will stay with you until the issue is fully resolved. MG Assistance is fully supported by our partners The AA and Switch Car Rental to deliver an efficient, start-to-finish solution.”
Another benefit of MG Assistance is that it is available on MG vehicles throughout the warranty period. After the initial one year of cover, provided when you purchase a new MG, customers will receive a service activated 12 month automatic and free renewal of their roadside assistance with the AA when they service their car with an MG dealership. All new MGs are supported by a 7-year and or an 80,000 mile manufacturer warranty.
Martin Wilson, Chief Executive, Switch Car Rental explains: “MG, The AA and Switch each bring proven strengths to deliver a seamless MG Assistance experience. Switch provides the national fleet infrastructure, disciplined processes and expert teams to supply fast, like‑for‑like courtesy support for as long as repairs take. It’s a joined‑up solution built on capability, delivered with customer service at its core.”
James Starling, director of business services at The AA, said; “We are proud to partner with MG and help provide peace of mind to their customers. Our long-standing relationship goes from strength to strength, as our expert patrols help keep the wheels turning for MG owners.”
MG was the UK’s tenth best-selling brand in 2025 welcoming over 85,000 new customers reaching the landmark of delivering its 100,000th electric vehicle. To further strengthen support for its 380,000 customers, MG Motor UK launched a state-of-the-art warehousing and parts distribution centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire in 2025. The 15,000 m² facility run in partnership with XPO Logistics provides additional capacity to meet future demand for MG parts and services.
