Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum has received a grant from the Museum Development Programme to help them digitise part of their archive collection.
The £1000 grant means the museum was able to digitise over two-hundred locomotive drawings from the North-Eastern Railway, London and North-Eastern Railway and British Railways eras; spanning the 1860s all the way through to the 1960s. The digitisation was undertaken by Northumberland Archives.
Leona White-Hannant, Curator at Head of Steam Museum said: “Thanks to funding from the Museums Development programme, our fantastic collection of drawings is now accessible to researchers both locally and nationally.”
