LOCAL families are invited to come along and enjoy an array of fun activities offered at Hemlington Community Council’s annual fun family event.
Hemlington Family Fun Day will be centred around St Timothy’s Church Hall and Hemlington Library in the Viewley Centre and the nearby shopping centre and lake area, this Saturday, July 9 from 10am to 2pm.
There will be plenty on offer for youngsters to enjoy including fairground rides and bouncy castles.
Entertainment will include a magician, balloon artist, face painter, dancing and a there will be a wide range of stalls, with plenty of refreshments also on offer.
The Community Council’s Grand Raffle and Tombola will be raising funds for Cancer Research in memory of former Community Council Chair Gill Baines.
Gill volunteered in the local community over many years, including leading on the Fun Day and other community events and was very keen that the Fun Day should still go ahead in her absence.
Chair of Hemlington Community Council Linda Boyle said: “This is a great community event organised by local residents, church and councillors with local groups as usual contributing to the stalls.
“I know lots of families are eagerly looking forward to the day and I hope as many as possible come along and join in the fun and support a very worthy cause.”
