Anyone working alone or from home who wants the ‘business buzz’ are being invited to a special event next week with other lone workers.
Working for yourself can be tough, lonely and isolating so Hambleton District Council has teamed up with ‘UK Jelly’ an informal co-working event where freelancers, home workers and small/micro business owners bring their laptop or other work and work, chat and collaborate with other small business owners in a different environment without having to pay for meeting rooms or office space.
“The ethos of Jelly is to be accessible to all,” said Marie Banks, Evolution Business Centre Manager. “With the venue, wifi and parking provided free of charge, and just a small charge made for food and drink.
“Jelly differs from networking in that the aim is not to find new clients or to sell yourself or your business but to exchange help and advice and maybe come up with new ideas.
“So if you know how isolated home working can get and how useful having other people around as a sounding board can be then please come along, there are still some places available.”
The event takes place on Wednesday 20 July from 10am – 5pm at Evolution Business Centre in Northallerton.
