Acclaimed Nigerian-American actress and international talent Idia Aisien is set to make her highly anticipated UK stage debut in the deeply moving play Dear Father, running from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 June 2025 at Fireworks Factory, Woolwich Works in London. With over 1.3 million Instagram followers and a prominent media profile across Africa, Aisien brings her celebrated presence to the UK stage, starring alongside industry legends Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and Kunle Remi. The production marks a powerful new chapter in her artistic journey—one that continues to captivate audiences around the world.

Before fully transitioning into acting, Idia established herself as a successful model and television presenter, working with global brands such as BMW, Black Opal, Lancôme, Schweppes and Nivea, and hosting hit shows like Style 101 and You Got Issues on Spice TV. Yet, it was the world of film and drama that truly sparked her creativity.

Aisien first gained widespread recognition in 2020 for her standout lead performance in the remake of the Nollywood classic Nneka the Pretty Serpent. Her portrayal of the title character was both commanding and nuanced, earning praise from critics and viewers alike. With this breakout role, she announced herself as a formidable new voice in African cinema—poised, intelligent, and unafraid to take on emotionally rich narratives. Building on this success, she is set to make her UK stage debut in Dear Father this June, starring alongside veteran actors Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Kunle Remi, and Tobi Bakre, who also stars with her in The Idia Project. The play explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the role of fathers in their daughters’ lives, set against the backdrop of rising femicide in the UK.

Speaking about the upcoming performance, Idia said:

“This role came at a time when I was personally reflecting on the importance of the relationships that shape us—especially those with our parents. ‘Dear Father’ is more than a play; it’s a statement about love, loss, and the role fathers play in helping their daughters find their voice. To make my UK stage debut with such a powerful script and talented cast is both humbling and exciting.”

As she expands her reach into international theatre and film, Idia Aisien continues to use her platform to champion African excellence and diversity in storytelling. Her presence on the UK stage represents not only a personal milestone but a wider shift towards amplifying African talent on the global stage.
