Teesside’s JD store will reopen its doors this Saturday 20th May following a 19 week refurbishment and £600,000 makeover.

The UK’s leading sports fashion retailer has a completely new look and setup, bringing Teesside shoppers an improved store with a bigger and better range of brands including Nike, Adidas, The North Face and Ellesse.

To mark the relaunch, JD is hosting a celebration event between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, with a live DJ, performances from street artists and an exclusive competition giving shoppers the chance to win a year’s supply of trainers.

Lee Wyldbore, store manager at JD’s Teesside store said: “Our new store has had a complete refresh and now offers an even broader choice for shoppers, including the latest collections and many exclusives in footwear, sport and streetwear as well as a great range of accessories from iconic brands.

“We can’t wait to hear what the people of Teesside think when we open the doors on Saturday”.

JD – the Undisputed King of Trainers – has been leading the way in sports fashion and modern streetwear since 1981.

Mike Clarke, centre director at Teesside, said: “We’re making big investments at Teesside to make our shopper’s experience even better, and the new JD is the next step in this.

“The recent refurbishments at Next and new opening of Nando’s have received excellent customer feedback. JD is one of our most popular retailers, so I’m sure the renovated store will be received just as well by shoppers.”

Shoppers visiting Teesside this Saturday can also enjoy its new foodie event which kicks off this weekend. Four vendors will be serving up a range of tasty treats from award-winning Steak Guinness & Black Pudding pies to cupcakes and macaroons.
