Jim Moir Exhibition Launch Draws Huge Crowd and Famous Faces to The Biscuit Factory
Knot Twister Prologue
until 20 July 2025
Over 200 guests gathered at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle on Thursday May 15 to celebrate the launch of Knot Twister Prologue – a new exhibition by renowned artist, actor and comedian Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves). The exhibition, which runs until 20 July 2025, marks Moir’s fourth solo show at the gallery and has already seen sales get off to a flying start.
The special evening – part of NewcastleGateshead’s after-hours cultural programme The Late Shows – gave fans and collectors the rare opportunity to meet Jim and his wife Nancy Sorrell in person. Adding to the buzz on the night were appearances from Viz founders Chris and Simon Donald, as well as Paul Tucker from chart-topping duo Lighthouse Family, and internationally renowned DJ and producer Geoff Kirkwood (Manpower), all of whom turned out to support the artist and his latest body of work.
Knot Twister Prologue showcases Moir’s signature surrealist style and celebrates the distinctive birdlife and landscapes of the North East, with striking new pieces featuring puffins, kittiwakes and other local species. The work captures the artist’s ongoing fascination with ornithology, nature and humour – a unique blend that continues to resonate with audiences across the UK.
Rachel Brown, General Manager at The Biscuit Factory, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted with the turnout and response to the launch. There was a fantastic energy in the gallery and it’s clear that Jim’s work continues to captivate both loyal fans and new admirers. With sales already off to a brilliant start, we encourage anyone interested in collecting to visit while the show is still on.”
The exhibition runs until Sunday 20 July 2025, offering plenty of time for art lovers to visit and purchase original works or signed prints. Admission is free and all works in the exhibition are available to buy.
