PLACES are still available on an introductory course for British Sign Language at two Community Hubs in Middlesbrough.
The 11-week course run by the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) is taking place at both Grove Hill and Easterside Community Hubs on Wednesdays.
The Grove Hill sessions will run from 10am to noon and the Easterside sessions from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
As well as being able to sign a basic conversation the course will provide skills to assist communication with people with autism, learning difficulties, speech difficulties and Down’s Syndrome.
The cost is £58 or free for people in receipt of a means tested benefit.
