Entrepreneur, Dr Phil Nichols – founder and CEO of NB Medical Education, the UK’s largest provider of medical training conferences – has now set his sights on the North East corporate market with the launch of Quadrus Events.
Phil Nichols said: “Quadrus Events is a concept that I have been thinking about for some time. While we were building a very successful UK and International business that operates in the medical conference sector, I was becoming increasingly aware of the opportunities that existed in the public and private sectors around us here in the North East and beyond.
“I wanted to create a company that offers something different and unique. As well as providing a fully integrated service from the initial stages of creating and planning an event through to the actual delivery on the day, we want to take the care to add that extra bit of professionalism and sparkle.
“We have an impressive team led by Rebecca Rankin (nee Luckley) and Collin Meadows, who come with great events management, sales and marketing experience and are committed to exceeding the expectations of the client. So, whether it’s an awards ceremony, conference, exhibition or product launch we have the skills and expertise to deliver a truly bespoke and memorable occasion.”
Following a successful career at Alliance Trust, Collin Meadows moves on from his current senior exhibition position to take on the role of head of sales and marketing, while Rebecca Rankin has been appointed head of events and operations. With a degree in event management, Rebecca has extensive and varied events experience.
She began her career at Nova International (now the Great Run Company), working on the Great North Run and specialising in the Great Swim series. She worked at NCJ Media heading up events such as the North East Business Awards and The Culture Awards and for RIBA International, managing national architectural conferences and exhibitions, including Ecobuild, before joining the NB Medical team, where she manages a portfolio of over 100 medical conferences each year across the UK and Europe.
Phil, who is a Postgraduate DPhil (PhD), qualified in Neuroscience MRC clinical research fellowship at St John’s College, Oxford University in 2001. From 2002-2007 he was a UK government department of health clinician scientist studying the mechanisms underlying chronic Multiple Sclerosis.
NB Medical Education founded in 1998 is now the largest provider of conference-based, webcast and online medical education to primary care healthcare professionals in the UK and Ireland, running over 100 courses a year. NB Medical is now pursuing an increasingly international profile in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
