A Little Book of Offers has given a financial boost to businesses in a North East town.
The books, which are issued quarterly, contain vouchers for discounts on purchases and services in Darlington town centre and the latest issue, which was available throughout May and June 2016, generated over £40,000.00 for the businesses featured.
The books are the brainchild of business improvement district company Distinct Darlington, who were set up to support businesses and encourage a vibrant shopping experience, and contain 28 discounts and promotional offers to be used against services and purchases from independent stores and high street giants all within Darlington town centre.
Offers included 50% off your food bill at Pizza Express on Skinnergate, £20 off when you spent £100 in Emelia’s on Bondgate and 15% off at Bliss Gifts on Duke Street. Dolly Mama on Grange Road, offered a free bracelet with purchases over £25, whilst Speccies on High Row gave voucher holders £20 off glasses priced £99 and over.
Other bargains included 15% off at Claire’s within the Cornmill and a free cupcake when spending over £5 at Truly Crumbtious on Post House Wynd.
Adam Johnson, general manager at Pizza Express exclaimed, “I have found the Little Book of Offers to be very effective within the local market and would welcome the opportunity to feature in it again.”
“Our Little Book of Offers certainly have a big impact,” said Alex Hirst, manager of Distinct Darlington, “And, when you look at the deals and discounts on offer at shops, salons and restaurants across the town, it really isn’t surprising.
“The Little Book of offers has been running for almost 4 years now and demand is growing with every issue which is fantastic. It doesn’t just benefit the businesses which take part, but by bringing in shoppers from further and further afield, there is a knock on effect for the whole town.”
