The new Weavers’ Court Extra care scheme in Alnwick has just made a new appointment, with a new activities coordinator and assistant manager joining scheme manager David Curran’s team.
Liz Pratt, 43, has arrived at the Weavers’ Court just ahead of the £6.5m scheme’s handover from main contractor Galliford Try.
The finishing touches are just being made to the building and its grounds, with block paving, landscaping, and internal decoration all being finished off.
The building’s cafe is ready to launch, and furniture is being installed in the lounges as residents begin moving into their apartments.
Liz said she was excited to be joining Weavers’ Court as the new community begins coming together.
She said: “We want to make Weavers’ Court a vibrant place to be, with lots going on – and include everybody. We want older residents from the local area to get involved too.
“I used to work as an occupational therapist, and my passion is to do activities with older people – chair based exercises, arts and crafts, knitting and crochet – whatever interests our residents. We will listen to what they want, and make it specific for their needs.”
Liz lives in Cramlington with her partner and their dog Snoopy, all within easy reach of her family in the area.
Before joining Weavers’ Court, Liz managed an Extra Care scheme in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.
David added: “I’m really glad to welcome Liz to Weavers’ Court. There is so much to look forward to here in our stunning new building, and I know Liz has already got some great ideas to start building a strong sense of community, and ensure this is a welcoming place for our residents – and for people from the local area.”
The Weavers’ Court show apartment is now available to view and weekday appointments can be made via Your Move estate agents at 39 Bondgate Within, Alnwick, or by calling 01665 603443.
The show apartment will also be open on Saturdays and Sundays, between 10.30am and 3.30pm when show home assistant Una Armstrong will be available to show guests around.
Prices for Shared Ownership apartments are £93,750 for a 75% share in a one bedroom apartment, or £103,125 for the same share of a two-bedroom apartment. Additional service charges will apply.
