THE FIRST ever Love Norton Advent Calendar Trail was officially launched on Friday (1 December) by the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Maurice Perry.
The trail sees special Advent windows created by local schoolchildren illuminated each day at 10am in the run up to Christmas by participating businesses.
Visitors both young and old are being encouraged to visit the businesses taking part and collect a sticker to add to their Love Norton Advent Calendar Trail Map – which can be picked up in stores.
The final window will be revealed on Christmas Eve at St Mary’s Church along with an outdoor ‘Carols on the Green’ event at Red House Primary School field at 4pm.
The windows will stay on display until Friday 5 January and maps with at least 20 stickers collected can be entered into a prize draw by handing them in at Norton Library by Saturday 6 January.
