A LEADING North East hospitality giant has thrown its weight behind one of the region’s top music festivals.
Newcastle-based Malhotra Group plc is the main sponsor of Live From Times Square, which is returning to the city centre venue in July and August with a star-studded line-up of acts.
And fans heading to the region to see performances from bands such as Manic Street Preachers, The Libertines and indie legends, James, can enjoy discounted rates on overnight stays.
Malhotra Group’s New Northumbria Hotel, Jesmond, Grey Street Hotel, Newcastle and city centre hostel, The Albatross, are all offering discounts on accommodation for festival goers who book direct.
Live From Times Square kicks off on 27 July with Jake Bugg, followed by Leftfield on 28 July, with James and special guests taking to the stage on 29 July.
On 3 August the Libertines will be supported by Maximo Park and Blackwaters, with Hacienda Classical – hit Manchester sounds from the 80s and 90s performed by Manchester Camerata Orchestra and surprise guests – appearing on 4 August.
Saturday 5 August will see Manic Street Preachers headline a line-up which also includes The Cribs, Public Service Broadcasting and Dream Wife.
And the festival will draw to a close the following night, Sunday 6 August, with Brian Wilson, Seasick Steve and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas.
Atul Malhotra, operations director, said the Malhotra Group was delighted to be the main sponsor for the festival.
“As a family-owned Newcastle business we are happy to support an event which is bringing so many superb performers to the city centre,” he said.
